City of Sydney and the Sydney Better Buildings Partnership

Brief

​Develop the first annual work plan (2011/12) of the Sydney Better Buildings Partnership in way that is engaging and draws on the expertise of each of the Partners involved.

 

​Outcomes

Five key focus areas were developed in the work plan. These are:

 

  • Energy

  • Water

  • Waste

  • Tenant / Owner Collaboration

  • Benchmarking and Reporting

Technical working groups have been formed around each of these areas to progress implementation of the plan.

​The Process

Update - 18 September 2013

Partners report that they have reduced their building emissions by an average three per cent each year from 2005/6, despite a 14 per cent increase in the amount of space leased over the same period. They are collectively saving around $25million per year on their electricity bills.
