Brief

Consult with relevant industry stakeholders and develop policy and program options for the existing commercial buildings in the City of Sydney that are not currently targeted by an environmental program.

 

​Outcomes

An options report was developed by Patrick Crittenden. The paper was based on desktop research, extensive discussions with the City of Sydney staff and two collaborative workshops with stakeholder groups.

 

The options paper:

• describes the characteristics of the mid-tier property sector

• provides an overview of diffusion of innovation theory as a framework to guide program decisions

• lists a set of program design principles

• outlines information, advisory, incentive and regulatory options

• proposes a staged approach to program development over 5 years

• details recommended actions to be taken in the first year of a proposed program
